Let's be honest, now that I am a Mommy, there isn't much Liz or much of that, mostly just about Finleigh!

30 weeks! Only 10 to go?!?!!?

Seriously, down to only 10 weeks!? Next week the countdown will be single digits!!!
How far along? 30 weeks!
Fruit/veggie size and development: Baby girl is as long as a cucumber! Her skin is getting smoother and she is strong enough she can grasp! (via the bump)
Total weight gain: I didn't weigh myself this week, our battery was dead, but let's be honest the answer is HIGHER than last week I am sure.
Maternity clothes? yes! oddly i miss my old t-shirts, I am sure some of them "fit" but i don't want to stretch them out!
Stretch marks? same, just lathering with lotion and bio oil!
Sleep: bathroom breaks galore!
Best moment this week: A mini surprise shower the 4 couples in our bible study group threw for us on Tuesday night at our final session! It was so unexpected and so fun! Baby girl is truly spoiled already, PLUS there were yummy cake pops! Win-win!
Miss Anything? Being able to sleep all night without at least 2 bathroom trips!
Movement: She is a wild one already it seems!
Food cravings: STRAWBERRIES! everything else the same too: gatorade frost glacier freeze, cinnamon rolls, low fat strawberry poptarts (don't worry they still have frosting), bananas and sooooo much chocolate milk. Plus our homemade pizza recipe, I think it has been made 3 time in the last 9 nights!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Symptoms: honestly besides interrupted sleep and feeling her up in my ribs at times nothing pregnancy related I should complain about! i keep waiting for the heartburn, but thankfully, none yet!
Belly Button in or out? still not "out"
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Labor Signs: Nada!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy about anything baby related! We are just SO ready to meet her!!!
Looking forward to: finishing up our Kaiser "preparing for baby" class next week... day one was a little overwhelming not going to lie, but Kevin was SO into it and excited about it all so that made it a little better! AND in 2 weeks my baby shower that my sister will be here from NC for!!!!

Glucose test & 29 weeks!!

Dun dun dunnnnn, the Glucose test!
Decided to post my experience after I literally googled and read SO many other accounts of it before mine.
Tuesday this week was my dreaded glucose test and my 28 week appointment. I had to schedule it in the afternoon in order to see my OB so I was SO nervous about the glucose test. A pregnant friend I work with failed her first and had to take the 4 hour test (it is not really 3 hours, come on). When she passed the longer test easily they told her it was really hard with the 1-hour test in the afternoon. GREAT!! I freaking LOVE sugar and fruit and carbs and pretty much all of the things that they tell you to limit on the day of test. I did NOT want to take the long test and miss a half day of work so I tried to be good: I ate 3 fried eggs with cheese on top for breakfast oops and snuck a banana in too and then for lunch I ate a bunch of string cheese to get in my protein oops and snuck in 3 or 4 strawberries too. I know you can't change if you have gestational diabetes in one day of eating, BUT I didn't want to add anything to risk the results. I was freaking starving allll day. I checked in for my appt and the doctor was running suuuuper late. Just longer I have to wait to drink the drink, wait my hour and finally EAT!!! The drink itself really wasn't horrid, just tasted like cold, flat, REALLY sweet sprite (I did hear the orange is worse)! I brought a straw with me in case they didn't have one and it helped to get it down in way less than the 5 minutes they give you. I made sure to be back on time after my appointment for the blood draw because they draw it exactly one hour from when you finished the glucose drink. My hubby brought me snacks so literally the second I walked out of the lab I ate & then had to wait... Fast forward to later Tuesday night after bible study and I got the test results email that I PASSED THE GLUCOSE with flying colors, I was SOOO happy! I celebrated the next morning with exxxxxtra caramel in my Starbucks of course :) If you are pregnant and have one coming up, good luck! Try to get it in the morning so you don't starve!

On to the regular post...
How far along? 29 weeks!
Fruit/veggie size and development: Baby girl is the size of an acorn squash and weighs over 2.5 lbs! They say she will about triple before birth, eek! (via the bump)
Total weight gain: 17.1 lbs official from the doctor this week, seriously the number freaks me out. I want to stop keeping track, but they still will! I read something that said recite this to yourself daily: "you are not fat, you are growing a human." I just can't, blah!
Maternity clothes? same, OF COURSE! got some new shirts in the mail this week too :)
Stretch marks? same, still just preventing if I can!
Sleep: Blah, not great, but once I get comfortable in my pillow I can at least relax!
Best moment this week: Passing my glucose test! I was SOOO worried about it!
Miss Anything? Possibly ok really could have used a glass of champagne or a beer this week, but oh well. I have work friends having one or two for me, how sweet of them.
Movement: Funny the nurse gave me a kick count card this week. Thanks but I don't think I need to worry about ONE time a day counting 10 movements. By the time I leave work about 3:30 haha yeah right try 4:30 I have counted to 10 on many occasions!!
Food cravings: Strawberries, cartons and cartons! Target's are amazing right now, who knew. I also found them at Costco, score! Also: gatorade frost glacier freeze, cinnamon rolls, low fat strawberry poptarts, bananas and chocolate milk. Thursday night when I couldn't sleep I was drinking chocolate milk at about 1am. Baby girl appreciated it and Kevin thought I was crazy :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Symptoms: a little braxton hicks, a little discomfort, feeling like i have to pee every hour, but really nothing I should be complaining about!
Belly Button in or out? Getting closer!
Wedding rings on or off? On, they feel loose, it is weird!
Labor Signs: Nada!
Happy or Moody most of the time: this week was not ideal, but tried to be happy?!
Looking forward to: our maternity photos! we are going to try the tulip fest, weather permitting. the sun on the chalkboard is positive thinking about it, come on Oregon!

28 weeks! 3rd trimester!

technically took my pic Friday night instead of Saturday morning,
but hey my outfit matched my chalkboard ;)
How far along? 28 weeks! HOLY CRAP THIRD TRIMESTER! I feel like yesterday I was 12 weeks pregnant & telling people and now I only have 12 weeks to go!
Fruit/veggie size and development: Baby girl is the size of an eggplant! Her skin is looking smoother because she is developing fat underneath, good girl!! (via the bump)
Total weight gain: 15lbs... oh how quickly I got back "on track"
Maternity clothes? yes, duh! realized this week how LARGE i look/feel wearing a regular hoodie that has a lil kangaroo pouch ick
Stretch marks? still just preventing if I can!
Sleep: Some pretty rough nights, but not sure if it is baby or work's fault! I just see it as practice for when I get NO sleep!
Best moment this week: Is it bad it was food related!? Work ended a bit stressful so last night Kev took me where I wanted to go... don't laugh... Qdoba and Coldstone. And they are NOT close to us, almost 20 miles away. He rocks.
Miss Anything? Actually yeah, being able to have a beer while watching the Masters with my hubby, but eh Starbucks will have to do!
Movement: This week was the first time I was woken from sleep from her kicking. What a sweetheart :)
Food cravings: i would have to say STRAWBERRIES is an understatement..... ONE.SITTING.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Symptoms: Just a little discomfort really, picking up something off the ground is pretty awkward
Belly Button in or out? Still "in" and weird!
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Labor Signs: Nada!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! I can't BELIEVE there are only 12 weeks until she is due. It seems surreal.
Looking forward to: getting my glucose test out of the way Tuesday! praying that I pass!

27 weeks! & nursery to-do list!

How far along? 27 weeks!
Fruit/veggie size and development: Baby girl is the size of a rutabaga! Really, of all fruits or veggies that is what they came up with? Haha. She is practicing more breathing as her lungs develop and the most INSANE development of the week: she is officially showing brain activity! (via the bump)
Total weight gain: Same as last week 13.5 lbs-ish, not making progress yet from my sicknesses! I am sure it will "blow up" again soon once I venture back to Taco Bell ;)
Maternity clothes? Some regular shirts this week, but otherwise all maternity pants. Why are they SOOO comfy?!
Stretch marks? Had a funny little convo with my mom about this subject this week (see below), but nothing showing yet and I am slathering on the Bio oil and lotion best I can!
Sleep: Besides the coughing this week, sleep is still good. Man i really love my body pillow.
Best moment this week: The hubs surprised me with a lil birthday cake from my FAVE cake place! The whole day of my birthday was spent watching/helping my parents move, but it was so nice at the end to have dinner (at THE best Mexican place in the world) and a DELISH cake to celebrate!! Good thing there are leftovers ;)

Miss Anything? Being able to take lots of cold medicine. When i get sick i don't usually shy away from the meds and having the nurse say "take nothing and practice home care" made my cold/flu/thing last WAY too long!
Movement: I think sometimes it still surprises me even though I have been feeling it for some time now. It really is AMAZING to feel your baby move inside of you! I catch myself just starrrrring at my stomach when I can see her moving!
Food cravings: i think the first time I even finally felt hungry in over a week was Thursday so really no cravings. Bought some birthday cake Oreo's for good measure anyway :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Symptoms: Nothing pregnancy related except a little discomfort from all of the coughing. I just see it as tightening whatever ab muscles are still left down there or had to begin with.
Belly Button in or out? Still in and that awkward flat stage.
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Labor Signs: Nada!
Happy or Moody most of the time: meh just blah from feeling so sick, but happy now that I finally feel like I am coming out of it, about time!
Looking forward to: More nursery progress! The glider is being reupholstered and all of the fabric for the bedding is in! SO excited for it to come together! See below for the nursery to-do list we put together... seems like a lot for less than 13 weeks! I want to be ready early jussssst in case, i know, wishful thinking.

Nursery To-Do List

Once the wall painting was done and the furniture was in, I felt like we were doing great and then this week while thinking about the bedding I realized there is still SO much to do, so we made a list to get going! Gah I can't wait until it is done!

peek of the fabric that I initially found and we kind of branched off from, i love elephants!

1. Changing table
- Find a matching 2nd basket and get liners made for both!
- Figure out which changing pad we want and make a cover! (by make a cover, I mean have my Mom make it, thank GOD for her!)

2. Lighting
- Paint both bases of the lamps we bought with our pink accent paint. It's called "pink explosion!"

3. Bookshelves
- Assemble and paint the inside of 3 cubes the same pink. Saw something like it on pinterest here and loved the idea!

4. Glider
- As soon as we get it back from being reupholstered*, pick which fabric will be the accent pillow!
* I couldn't find any I really LOVED so we bought one with white wood to match the furniture and immediately took it in somewhere for new fabric!

5. Decor
- Order wood letters, HAHA guess we better decide on her name right?!
- Paint letters and hang
- Apply vinyl wall quote
- Find something for the top of the dresser
- Paint the mirror frame pink
- Find something for toy storage
- Decide on what will be on the last wall... sounds easy right?

6. Bedding - SO thankful for my Mom's help with making all of this!
- Bed skirt
- 3 fitted sheets
- Bumper
- Curtains
- Baby blanket, i love me some minky!
- Quilt with all the fabrics?
- Accent pillows

Okay the list is massive, I should probably be working on that not blogging!

26 weeks, babymoon + so much more!

Holy moly this post is overdue. Its been a crazy past week or so. After the 25 week mark, it was my spring break (working at a high school has perks!) so my husband and I were off on our babymoon to Vegas! The plan was just to relax and enjoy the sun. We did that... but things didn't maybe go QUITE as planned. Tuesday night (only our 2nd day there) ended up like this....
For some explanation... less than 24 hours from arriving in sunny Vegas, I got a lil sick and by a "lil" I mean realllly sick only about 10 minutes from arriving at the pool! I will spare the revolting details... I called the Kaiser advice nurse line, seriously thank God for them, and they told me if I had a temperature above 100 and I couldn't keep fluids down then I needed to go to the ER... Off Kevin went in the rental car (that we thankfully decided last minute Sunday to rent) for a thermometer. Sure enough my temp was high and I couldn't even keep down 2 sips of water without, well... Decided to listen to my fireman husband who insisted and the nurse advice, googled "hospital" and drove to the nearest one. They were amazing, I was really out of it. Don't remember this part much, but spent maybe 2 minutes in the ER just to get my info and they sent me off to the L&D area so they could treat me and monitor the baby. Baby girl was PERFECTLY fine, by the grace of God. She was moving like crazy normal (probably starving) and her heart rate was ideal. I, on the other hand, was beyond dehydrated and needed fluids so I got an IV to the hand and spent the next 3 hours taking in over 3 liters of fluids and being watched. Although my temp spiked and would NOT come all the way down, they eventually let me go once I could keep down  crackers and water. They think it must have been a bacterial infection or something, norovirus, who knows. They didn't think food poisoning just because of the fever but weren't positive. It was scary and gross and I am just so thankful that they let me go and that baby girl was perfectly okay! The next day wasn't much better unfortunately, but really in the long run it could have been SO much worse and wasn't.

Long story short, I am thankful it turned out as "easy" as it could and we did manage to have some babymoon fun still! Before said hellish Tuesday event, we headed to the strip for a little shopping and lunch. After said hellish Tuesday event we had amazing massages (I was a little out of it, but felt amazing), spent time by the pool and even went out to Red Rocks to hike around a little.

My hubby was SO amazing through all of it! I tried to buck up as much as I could so as not to totally ruin our trip but he seriously was a SAINT. He was so good to me and stayed SO calm, guess that is why he makes such a good fireman! Since getting home Friday night I have been sick AGAIN with some nasty cold flu something brutal, so he had to deal again! I was so sick it even kept me home 2 days from work, which I hate and never do. Here's to feeling better asap and being thankful for amazing husbands!
(sorry for so many not ideal quality iPhone pics)

Without further ado or chattering delay here is my picture and update as of my REAL 26 week mark back on Saturday (the 30th) even though it is already the 3rd, oops! To be fair I did actually do the chalkboard Saturday while our Easter eggs were cooling, had my answers mostly ready and took the picture Sunday morning before early Easter church service, but just never got it posted as I got sicker, ugh!

How far along? 26 weeks!
Fruit/veggie size and development: Baby girl is the size of a head of lettuce! Her eyes are forming, she has eyelashes (CRAZY!) and she is even taking breaths, of fluid, but breaths none the less! (via the bump)
Total weight gain: 13.5 lbs or so I think as of Saturday, I went backward on our trip due to the whole sickness ish
Maternity clothes? Rocked the regular bikini on the babymoon, but otherwise mostly all maternity! I brought some non maternity dresses that fit, but didn't end up wearing them! Loving the cheap ruched ribbed tanks from Old Navy!
Stretch marks? Same, still nothin showing! Thanks to a friend's recommendation, I added Bio Oil to my twice daily Palmer's cocoa butter cream regimen (I buy both at Target).
Sleep: Brought my "back up" body pillow on our trip luckily!
Best moment this week: Even though I was still feeling super crappy I tried to rally so we didn't have a TOTAL loss of a babymoon and we hiked around Red Rocks near our hotel Thursday. It was seriously SO majestic & beautiful and despite everything going on, left me feeling so blessed and thankful to God!
Miss Anything? I didn't even miss having a drink in Vegas I was too sick!
Movement: OMG all the time, she seems wild! it is so fun now that Kevin can feel her too!
Food cravings: nothing sounded good even when I could eat, so definitely wasn't craving this week! that is a first!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Ha yes, but that wasn't baby girl's fault ;)
Symptoms: Again, nothing baby girl related! She was off the hook this week!
Belly Button in or out? Still in but getting flatter, it is so weird.
Wedding rings on or off? On!
Labor Signs: Nada! That is what the hospital was most concerned with at first, but everything was fine with her!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Hard to answer, happy when I wasn't feeling like death ha
Looking forward to: Getting rid of this cold (ha update to real time Weds, it obviously didn't go away and instead got WORSE!)

If you are still reading, sorry that was a REALLY long post, oops! I plan to be on track for this weekend's 27 week post! My 28th birthday is Saturday - too bad it won't be 28 weeks on my 28th, would have been perfect! Hope you are all in good health and have a great rest of the week!
